Mary Murphy in Halloween Costume

Mary Murphy in costume as a statue

“So You Think You Can Dance” riot Mary Murphy came into the studios at San Diego’s Star 94.1 to promote her big Halloween Bash in San Diego.

The SYTYCD judge was in costume as a statue and revealed she’s going to be dressed as a bag of grapes for Halloween. “I’m gonna have purple balloons all over it, and I’m still working on my headdress,” she said, adding, “I decorate it myself. I get into Halloween.”

Here are some other highlights from the chat today:

On how shows like “So You Think You Can Dance” and other reality dance competition TV programs have been a boost to dance class enrollments…

“I think it’s great, and it has skyrocketed. We have couples paired up starting from the age of five. It puts a smile on your face watching kids do the tango and the cha-cha. There’s nothing cuter to me.”

One when we’ll see her cut up the floor again…

“I’d like to dance one more time on “SYTYCD,” but after my health issues last year, I just can’t seem to get my body together. If I can get it together, I’d like to dance one more time.”

There’s a copy of the podcast here (it’s short, 4 minutes).
